October 27th, 2009 at 1:30 pmMy hotel of choice in South Jakarta is the Gran Mahakam Hotel. Smallish but very stylish. Clean, cosy rooms and great staff which due to the size of the hotel get to know you very quickly.
The ideal hotel for a business meeting as classy and professional enough to set an image without being an over the top monster covered in marble like some of the larger Hyatts etc.
Well reknown for its meals and service. Prices about 800,000Rp upwards. Only downside, they simply do not grasp the concept of providing the odd upgrade to regular clients.
Would I stay there? Yes I do but they are pushing the edge with their prices getting towards fair dinkum five star hotel price. If you are going to charge that then you need to provide all the facilities a full five star does.
