Formerly known as the “Hotel Nikko Jakarta” the Pullman Hotel is an ideal base to do business in Jakarta and impress your partners, with the comforts and luxuries to be expected in a five star hotel. Pullman Hotel sports a rooftop restaurant with outstanding views of the city skyline to enhance your dining experience, and a Japanese restaurant, coffee shop, pub and a lounge. The 427 rooms are large in the new tower, which also houses executive rooms with an exclusive executive-business lounge.
Pullman Hotel is in the very heart of Jakarta’s central business, shopping and entertainment district close to major embassies, government offices, and shopping malls. It is about 45 minutes from Jakarta International Airport and 15 minutes from Gambir Train Station. Rates start from $27. Reserve a room.
The Pullman Hotel is at 59 Jalan M.H. Thamrin in Central Jakarta.{wpregooglemap}

Nikko Hotel is sometimes great, and sometimes lousy.
For example:
– It is the only hotel I remember which provides free bath foam, but the bath is too small to do anything more than sit upright in.
– Similarly, the choice of breakfast was large – it even had my favourite breakfast cereal, which I didn’t know was available in Indonesia – but I was never offered tea/coffee by the staff.
– The TV had 56 channels, but the picture was unclear and ESPN and Star Sports were replaced with something else.
– The treadmills have TV screens too, along with iPod docking stations, but there are few other choices (because of renovations, due to be finished in July 2010).
– The bellboys and concierge were very friendly and helpful, but often there was only one person at reception, and I waited a long time to check-in/out.
As it stands, I wouldn’t really recommend Nikko Hotel unless you really like Japanese food for breakfast. There are other hotels nearby that have better facilities, offer better value for money and are more modern.
